Two Week Anniversary!

Well, we've been married two whole weeks tonight! We're still so thankful so many of you were able to celebrate with us!

Pictures have been posted and shared in many places already. We'll start with the ones posted on our photographer Shelli's blog. (These are just a taste of what's to come, of course. When Shelli's full album is completed, it will be posted here.) One of my favorites so far is this one, taken about ten minutes before the bridesmaids made their entrance:

Quite a few people have posted pictures on Facebook. Thanks to Beth and Bob for these two, (and to Carla, who took the shot that currently greets you here!).

My Uncle Bill has posted an album on his website. One of my favorites of his captured our favorite moment of the ceremony, when Colin got stage fright.

We'd like to extend a special thank you to Ben, who captured our first dance on video.

If you took pictures and would like to share them, please feel free to post a link to them on the comments section of this post.
And sincerest thanks again to everyone who helped us celebrate! We couldn't be happier!

Join Us Friday Night!

While we're not having a formal rehearsal dinner on Friday night, we invite our out-of-town guests and locals to meet us at the Courtside for drinks. Located within walking distance of the Hotel Marlowe, the Courtside is a place we frequented in the early days of our relationship. On the 7th, we plan on arriving at 9 or so and staying as long as we can. Tell the doorman, who may be the Legendary Mark the Shark, that you're with Seth and Megan.

Boston

There are many things to see and do in Boston, historic and otherwise. These are some of our favorites.

The Freedom Trail: If you're into history, this self-guided, 2.5 mile walking trail is definitely for you. Starting in the Boston Common near Park Street T Station, you'll follow the red brick line through the State House, historic burial grounds and churches, the oldest continuously operating pubs and restaurants in the country, Paul Revere's house, the USS Constitution and the Bunker Hill Monument. Weather permitting, this is the best way to hit the historical highlights of Boston.

Boston Common and Public Garden: These two public gardens mark the beginning of Frederick Law Olmsted's Emerald Necklace, a string of gardens that snakes through the city into Brookline and Jamaica Plain. Though Olmsted didn't design these gardens (the Common, the oldest city park in the country, predates Olmsted by more than 200 years), they remain a lovely place to wander on an autumn afternoon. The view of the city behind the George Washington statue at the entrance on Arlington Street and Commonwealth Avenue is my personal favorite!

Newbury Street: From high-end boutiques like Marc Jacobs and Chanel to the more affordable H&M, this is Boston's most famous street for shopping. Take a detour on Clarendon or Dartmouth (cross streets are alphabetical from Arlington through Hereford) towards Boylston Street to see Copley Square, which houses the Boston Public Library at one end and Trinity Church at the other. The reflection of Trinity Church in the glass of the John Hancock Tower is one of the most beautiful sights in the city.

Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA): Of all the museums in Boston, this is our favorite, and not just because Groomsman Rosol works here. The building itself is a work of art, all wood, glass, and curves, with incredible views of Boston Harbor. And then there's the weird, wild, whimsical art itself...definitely a thought-provoking way to spend an afternoon!

Places to Eat Dinner

You'll find plenty of places to eat near the hotel, including the places at the mall next door (California Pizza Kitchen, Cheesecake Factory, the Food Court). If you're looking for something more, try one of these locally owned restaurants:

All Star Sandwich Bar, 1245 Cambridge Street, Inman Square, Cambridge: There are lots of places to dine in Inman Square, but this sandwich shop has a unique menu and pretty darn good food.

Midwest Grill, 1124 Cambridge Street, Inman Square, Cambridge: Do you like meat? Do you like it served tableside on swords? Do you like to eat yourself into a stupor? Then this Brazilian Barbecue is for you!

Evoo, 118 Beacon Street, Somerville: This is our favorite place for a special night out. Part of the slow food movement, Evoo uses fresh, local ingredients and interesting flavor combinations to create truly amazing food. Besides that, the staff are incredibly friendly. It's an expensive meal, but well worth it! Reservations recommended.

The North End, Boston: This is an entire neighborhood of Italian delights. Our favorite is Euno (119 Salem Street), with its exposed brick and cozy basement (reservations recommended). For dessert, skip overly-touristy Mike's and head for Modern Pastry (257 Hanover Street).

The Barking Crab, Fort Point Landing, 88 Sleeper Street, Boston: There are many fine fish restaurants in Boston (including the ubiquitous Legal Sea Foods and tasty Skipjack's), but the Barking Crab boasts a laid back atmosphere in a unique harborside location, within walking distance of another Boston favorite, the ICA.

If You'll Only Have Saturday to Sight See

If you'll only have the day of the wedding to see the sights, we highly recommend a Boston Duck Tour. These amphibious landing vehicles pick up from the Museum of Science, which is right around the corner from the Hotel Marlowe, and take you on an 80-minute tour of Boston. You'll also splash into the Charles River to see both Boston and Cambridge from the water.

Harvard Square

Make yahself feel smaht and go pahk ya cah down at Hahvahd Yahd! Harvard Square offers lots to see and do, but our five favorites are:

Harvard: All kidding aside, do check out Harvard's campus (including the yard), which is lovely. Bonus points for locating Seth's office at the Science Center, which is right next to the grand Memorial Hall.

Globe Corner Books: We have spent hours dreaming in this store. Whether you're planning a trip or just really like maps, this is a wonderful place to get lost!

Black Ink: Weird, but decidedly useful and beautifully designed items are displayed floor to ceiling in this funky store. Did you know that you needed a 50 year calendar or a jumbo jack? Probably not.

Tanjore: One of Seth's favorite lunches is the buffet at this Indian restaurant. He swears you'll get special treatment if you drop his name.

Charlie's Kitchen: Just in case Indian isn't your cup of tea, we also love this institution. Seth recommends the Double Lobster Roll Special.

To get to Harvard Square from the Hotel Marlowe, take the Red Line from Kendall or the 69 Bus from Lechmere.

Engagement Photos

Our photographer, Shelli Friedberg, was nice enough to offer to take some engagement pictures with us. We had a fun evening with her and are so happy she'll be capturing our wedding!
