Hotels

The hotel and B&B options in Boston and Cambridge are endless. However, since navigating the confusing one-ways and expressways on either side of the Charles River is notoriously frustrating, we recommend staying closer to Saturday evening's festivities.

There are four hotels within walking distance (15 minutes or less) of the wedding and reception:

The pet friendly Hotel Marlowe is offering a wedding rate of $179/night for their Deluxe rooms. Book by October 8 and mention the "Long-Laskarzewski Room Block" (Reservations: 800-825-7140).

The Royal Sonesta is across the street from Hotel Marlowe and is comparable in customer reviews. Both hotels are right around the corner from the Cambridgeside Galleria and the Museum of Science and a quick walk to the Lechmere T station.

The Hampton Inn Boston/Cambridge is literally a half block from the Lechmere T station, which makes getting into Boston for sightseeing a cinch. It's in a slightly more industrial looking area than the Marlowe and Sonesta, but is still a quick walk to the mall, MOS, and the wedding/reception.

There is also a Holiday Inn Express a couple of blocks farther down the O'Brien Expressway from the Hampton Inn. However, it's just as expensive as the others in the area. Instead, you might try the slightly less expensive and comparably reviewed Holiday Inn Boston/Beacon Hill. Just across the "Salt and Pepper" bridge in Boston proper, the hotel is at the edge of one of the city's most picturesque, historic neighborhoods. Its location near the Charles/MGH T station (3 stops to Harvard, 1 stop to Park Street) makes sightseeing farther afield easy. You'd also be just a short cab ride away from the wedding/reception.

The Mariott Boston Cambridge is on the Cambridge/wedding side of the "Salt and Pepper" bridge. The Kendall Square T station (2 stops to Harvard, 2 stops to Park Street) is underneath the hotel. Supposedly, the hotel is a 15 minute walk to the wedding, but there is also a free shuttle to the mall, which is 2 blocks from the site.
